LE PICCOLE CANAGLIE

Musical adaptation by Denise Monas based on the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, with original music by Geppy Amoruso.

The show, one of the most important of Le Piccole Canaglie, features 15 original songs, an impressive set and images projected on giant screens, and involves 120 actors, including 100 children and teenagers aged 4 to 17,  60 technicians working backstage for 3 performances more than 200 costumes. Subtitles in English and French.

The story is about a young prince who is cursed by an enchantress because of his selfishness and cruelty. He is transformed into a horrible beast and his soul imprisoned in a rose. To survive, the prince must reunite with his soul… but only a disinterested and pure love can help him.

Beauty and the Beast is a famous European fairy tale, with many variants, whose origins could be traced back to one of Apuleius’ stories on the Metamorphosis, ‘Cupid and Psyche’. Walt Disney transformed it into a sweet story, with a strong and independent protagonist. Le Piccole Canaglie rediscover its darkest sides and bring its moral teachings on stage.
